Sex survey results
Well, readers of this blog are clearly a conservative bunch, at least in theory. 97% of participants reported that they considered themselves a Christian and 83% were male. This of course begs the question- how can I get more female non-christians to read this blog? Of course maybe female non-christians didnt want to do the test!
This survey should not be seen as representative of any group other than readers of my blog, and as such for some weird reason I feel almost responsible for the results!!! Just what kind of a croud of people hang out over here?
When asked 'Is sex outside of marriage always wrong?' 94.85% said 'yes', whilst only 4 (out of 133 who took the test) said free sex was OK provided you weren't married. 3 people also stated it was OK 'if it doesn't hurt anyone'. Whether that would allow for the distinctly modern phenomena of the 'Open Marriage' was far from clear.
One major failing of the survey (which was my fault!) was its failure to establish a disconnect between current practices and previous practices. So what we don't know is how many people who answered the test were acting in a different way today to what their very conservative views expressed in the previous question suggested. Certainly though, not everyone in the survey had been 'chaste' even if this was only in a previous 'non-christian' life.
When asked 'how many sexual partners have you ever had in total throughout your life?'
almost 40% stated One, and that they intended it to remain that way. 2% appeared to want to aim for this but stated 'you can never tell if it will work out'. This worries me, as in my view committment to a marriage come what may is essential for it to work.
Almost 30% admitted to having between two and ten partners in their life, and just under 5% stated they had between Ten-Twenty. This left 5% with over twenty, and the rest almost a whopping 20% remained virgins, with the vast majority of these wanting to wait till marriage for sex.
Other Questions reported as follows
Have you ever encountered or viewed any kind of nudity or pornography online?
-Never and I don't intend to 16.18%
-I have rarely stumbled on an image of a woman partially or totally nude and tend to quickly move away 24.26%

-I actively seek out images online that are revealing of nudity 19.85%

-Never, I just don't know where to find it! 0%
Considering the level of conservatism in the survey participants, this is perhaps surprising, but clearly indicates the level of problem that internet pornography poses.
